Oakdale senior Amelia Miller signed on Friday to play basketball for Roane State Community College in a ceremony held at Oakdale School. The ceremony was attended by Roane State Raiderette Coach David Harnish, Miller’s family, and many students and staff.

The Roane State Raiderettes are coming off a highly successful season in which the team earned a 22-8 record and made it to the semifinals of the TCCAA/NJCAA Region VII Tournament. The Raiderettes have won 20 games or more in 29 of Harnish’s 32 years as coach.

During her four years as an Oakdale Lady Eagle, Miller scored 1,094 points, even though she played in only five games her freshman year.

Miller scored almost half of her career points during her senior year, pouring in 494 points for the Lady Eagles, averaging 19 points per game. Miller also averaged 9.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 2.2 blocks per game. Miller’s productive senior season came while continuing to recover from a previous injury.

Congratulations to Amelia Miller for proving once again that hard work and commitment pay off and open the door to future opportunities.
