Pike, Stubbs, and McCullum Selected MCS Players of the Year
MorganCountySports.com District 3A 2020-21 Players of the Year
Now that the district and region tournaments are over, we are pleased to announce our choices for players of the year in District 3A. In making the selections, we looked at the players skills on both offense and defense, including their ball-handling ability, their agility, their aggressiveness in attacking the basket, their aggressiveness on defense, and scoring ability. Most important of all was their leadership and contribution to the success of their teams.
While there are several good players that made the selection a tough one, we are pleased to announce that Kelsey Pike of Oneida High School is the MCS girls Player of the Year. As a sophomore, Pike led the Lady Indians to an undefeated District 3A season and both district and region championships.
The selection for MCS boys Player of the Year was much tougher! Finding no process to adequately differentiate between the two, we chose to name boys Co-Players of the Year – Brady Stubbs and Jordan McCullum of Harriman High School. Senior Stubbs and freshman McCullum complemented each other to lead the Blue Devils to both district and region championships.
Congratulations to Kelsey, Brady, and Jordan!
