Wartburg and Midway Split Doubleheader – March 26, 2019

The Wartburg Central Bulldogs and the Midway Greenwave split a baseball doubleheader on a cold, blustery afternoon at Wartburg. Midway took the first game 4-2 behind the pitching of Emmitt Hegland. Patrick Lester took the loss for Wartburg. Wartburg turned the tables in the second game with Caleb Constant pitching and downed the Greenwave 3-0. Constant also hit a long triple to left field driving in Wartburg’s first run in the top of the first inning. Noah Collier was the losing pitcher for Midway. Wartburg is now 5-1 in district play and tied with Rockwood for first place. Midway’s district record is 1-3 – the Greenwave are in sixth place in the district.
