Lady Bulldogs Roll Over Oakdale 63-39

With six different players successfully firing up 3-point shots, the Wartburg Central Lady Bulldogs had no problem overpowering the Oakdale Lady Eagles this evening 63-39.

The Lady Bulldogs connected on three 3-point shots in the first quarter, along with three 2-point shots and five free throws to take an overwhelming 20-7 lead. The second quarter was more of the same as Wartburg scored on four 3-pointers and five 2-point shots. Meanwhile, the Lady Bulldog defense held Oakdale to only four points in the quarter, advancing the Wartburg lead to 43-11 at the half

The Lady Eagles had their most productive scoring in the second half, outscoring Wartburg 12-9 in the third and 16-11 in the fourth. Coach Jason Davis took advantage of the opportunity to give his bench valuable playing time in the second half.

Wart burg was led in scoring by Madison Holley with 14 points and Madison Williams with 11 points. Reagan Redmon poured in three treys for the Lady Bulldogs, and Callie Johnson, Madison Williams, and Jacey Gouge had two each.

Victoria jones led the Lady Eagles with 13 points, followed by Delaney Hicks with 10 points and Amelia Miller with nine points.

The Lady Bulldogs are now 2-0 in District 3-1A play and travel to Oliver Springs on December 7. The Lady Eagles are 1-1 in district play and face Sunbright at home on December 7.
