Sunbright’s big man Wes Bohanan signed a Letter of Intent today to play basketball for Johnson University Tennessee in Knoxville. Johnson, a private, coeducational institution of higher learning was established in 1893 and offers associate, baccalaureate, and graduate degrees.

Johnson University is a member of the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA). At Johnson, Wes will have the opportunity to play under and be developed by Coach Brandon Perry, the 2018 NCCAA Division 2 Men’s Basketball Coach of the Year. The Johnson Royals won the 2019 NCCAA Mid-East Region Title. The Royals have a brand new home in Johnson’s just completed $24 million Athletic Recreation Complex.

Wes said the opportunity is a “dream come true. I have always dreamed of playing college basketball”. According to Jonah German, Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator, the Royals have a 6-11 center who will be a senior next year, and they need someone with some size to come in and help out. German further added that after having Wes visit Johnson and work out with the team, “we really liked what we saw, a really strong and physical kid.”
