Lester and Davis Find the Fence in Wartburg’s Loss to Harriman – April 29, 2019

By Terry Futrell

Wartburg Bulldogs Patrick Lester and Jeremiah Davis each hit one over the fence accounting for all Wartburg runs as the Bulldogs came up short losing 12-3 to the Harriman Blue Devils.

In the last home game of his high school career, Lester had to feel really good about the ball he hit over the center field fence – a distance of about 340 feet – in the 2nd inning. Lester’s solo home run put the Bulldogs on the board after Harriman had taken a 1-0 lead in the top of the inning. This sequence of photos highlights Lester’s home run.

With Harriman leading 8-1 in the bottom of the sixth inning, Davis came to the plate with Caleb Constant on 2nd base. Davis connected on the very first pitch, hitting a long line drive over the left field fence – a distance of about 320 feet. The two-run homer by Davis resulted in much jubilation, as shown in the following sequence of photos.
