Midway vs Eagleville State Tournament Scouting Report – March 4, 2019

Midway High School and Eagleville School will each be making an appearance in the girls state tournament for the first time since current players were born. Midway last appeared in the tournament in 1991 when they were defeated by Collinwood 56-50 in the first round. Midway also competed in the state tournament in 1980 and 1985. Eagleville last appeared in the tournament in 1982 when they were defeated by Bradford 75-57 in the championship game.
Eagleville Lady Eagles
Eagleville School is a preK-12 school located in Eagleville, Rutherford County, TN. Total enrollment for all grades is approximately 1,000 students.

Class A, Region 4, District 8
Record: 22-9 (8-2) – won last 7 games
Strength Rank: 24th
Schedule Rank: 64th
The Lady Eagles earned a spot in the Class A state tournament for the first time in 37 years after a last-second shot by Makayla Moates gave them a 47-46 win over Clay County in the Class A sectional Saturday night.
Anna Grace Clement (#24) led the way for Eagleville with 14 points, including going 8-of-9 at the free-throw line. Mary Elise Lynch (#14) added nine points on three 3s, while Elizabeth Thompson (#5) scored eight points.
Clement is a 5-11 sophomore forward, Lynch is a 5-07 junior guard, and Thompson is a 6-00 junior forward.
Midway Lady Waves
Midway High School is a 9-12 school located in the Midway Community located in the South of the River section of Roane County, TN. Enrollment is approximately 270 students.

The Lady Waves qualified for the Class A state tournament for the first time in 28 years after a driving layup by Emily Cawood with 15 seconds to go gave them a 54-52 victory over North Greene in the Class A sectional Saturday night.
Caitlyn Ross (#1) and Cawood (#22) led the Lady Waves in scoring with 17 points each. Paige Bacon (#5) added 11 points for Midway. Collectively, the three players were 11-14 from the free throw line.
Ross is a 5-06 senior point guard, Cawood is a 5-06 junior forward, and Bacon is a 5-06 senior guard.
